Never mind the classics, if I could only listen to one Dylan song for the rest of my life it would be an easy choice: "Tough Mama" always, ALWAYS makes me happy when it comes on. The lyrics, the bellowed vocals, the woozy groove that you describe... even Garth's "oh, are we stopping now?" outro is just perfection. I can't imagine it ending any other way without losing some of the magic.
Yes!!! All in. There are exactly two accounts that kept me clicking on and maintaining some sort of presence on that stupid website: yours and one other. I love your takes, but now in the much more sane world of whatever this is, lol. Congrats. Also, the Dylantantes are tackling Planet Waves this month, so your comments are particularly timely for me.
Thanks so much! I wrote the liner notes for the new live ‘74 Dylan and The Band box set, so it has been really on the brain! More on this soon. 27 discs! So very much more.
Thank you, Wayne! And I don’t know! I’ve not quite figured out what I’m doing, in Twitter as in life. But I’ll do something with the entire archive for sure.
i can't quit twitter precisely because of the community :( it's still the only place where i've met people that evolved into IRL friends, and it's still my only way of communicating with too many people (which is a scary thought - i've started trying to move that to insta [which of course is not much better]).
really wish one of the "new twitters" (mastodon, bluesky, etc) had really caught on, but much like my hoped for a "new bandcamp", inertia is a damn hard thing to overcome.
I’m not deleting my Twitter account, I’m just going to be doing more stuff over here. I get the sense of community that Twitter can provide- it’s a meaningful thing.
Good move. I'm in. Love the insight about the band. Never could have articulated it but as soon as I read it, it was yes! that's exactly right.
Thanks so much!

Such an exultant moment! "Tough Mama" is low key horndog Dylan classic.

Great idea Elizabeth. I am happy to subscribe.
Regarding the archive, do you intend to add all of the reviews you posted on Twitter?

I'm on board. The world would be a dimmer place without your writing, both of the long-form and 280-character varieties.
Thanks so much, Marc! It's so nice to hear this.
Hi
Hi! I can't drop a photo of Victoria in the comments, but she says hi too.
