I remember reading a description of Paul somewhere as a "parking lot sage." I think about that a lot. Maybe too much.
I also remember Dave back in the day, looking into the camera and saying, "This is the only thing on NBC right now."
I did not expect that reading about Letterman would be that interesting. But given the line of discussion the Replacements angle works for me.
I should have said "parallel" and not "angle".
