I used to pass LaMotta on the way to work (this was the late 90s in NYC, midtown east side. I would say, "Hello Champ" - though I don't think he was ever a champion. Good times.
Nice timing with the Tunnel of Love recommendation. When my wife and I got married 28 years ago it seemed BRILLIANT to get married on Valentine's Day, that way we would never forget it because there would be signs everywhere, and everyone would be celebrating our special day. Well, now we've broken up and I've got this damn Valentine's Day to get through. Wednesday and Thursday are looking good, though: I'm going to see Ride, Charalatans UK, and the Beths in those 2 days, so there's plenty of reasons to live :-)
I love the sound of structured class! Oh that sounds like it has promise.
Not only does it have promise, it DELIVERS.

I have this problem: when I read this newsletter my "to read" list somehow always ends up longer than when I started.
PS: coloring outside the lines is some counterculture shit if I ever heard some.

Nice score with Holsapple! Keep on kicking ass.
Tunnel of Love might be Springsteen’s best record. Top 3 for sure. And tracks like “Valentine’s Day” help make its case.
Also: Peter Holsapple? Holy shit. I’m excited to hear what you all put together!
